Monaco money makers
According to the papers, Vadim Vasilyev, the vice president at the Ligue 1 club received 10% of the capital gains on all player sales made. This amounted to 5.3 million euros in 2015/16 and 5.4 million euros in 2016/17.
The fiscal year of 2017/18 is likely to have lined the pockets of the man next to owner Dimitri Rybolovlev significantly more, with the sales of Tiémoué Bakayoko to Chelsea (€45m), Kylian Mbappé to PSG (€180m), Benjamin Mendy to Man City (€47.5m) and Bernardo Silva also to Man City (€50m).
Vadim Vasilyev and Monaco confirmed to Mediapart the existence of this automatic commission clause in the Russian's contract.
