Update:

Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is contemplating an offer from Manchester United to replace José Mourinho on the Old Trafford bench in June after the coach from Setubal was relieved of his duties on Tuesday. The French coach is still deliberating over the proposal and those close to the former player admit that Zidane's next planned career move was to manage a Premier League side with his intention being a return to the game in the 2019-20 season. United today confirmed the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as caretaker boss through to the end of the current campaign.

Zidane left Madrid on May 31 after securing three back-to-back Champions League titles with the Santiago Bernabéu outfit and has two great ambitions as a coach: to manage Juventus and at some point the French national side. Both these roles are complicated in the short term given the respective success currently being enjoyed by both incumbents, Max Allegri with the Serie A side and Didier Deschamps with "Les Bleus".
