Vinicius travels to Seville for Betis clash

With seven players out, Solari will be delighted that Vinicius, who had been a doubt due to flu, has been given the all clear to travel.

Update:
Vinicius travels to Seville for Betis clash

Santiago Solari has carried a squad of 20 players for Real Madrid’s encounter with Betis in Sevilla this Sunday at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.

With seven players missing the game through injury or suspension, including Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, some good news for the Argentinean coach was the fact that Vinicius will be able to travel with the rest of the squad.

The young Brazilian, who has been one of Madrid’s most impactful players of late, had been a doubt because of flu, and had to bow out of Friday’s training session. But the club’s medical staff have given him the all clear to travel to Seville and will likely start the game up front with Benzema in Madrid’s injury-ridden attacking line.

Cristo and Isco

With Bale and Mariano missing, Solari has called up Cristo from Castilla (the ‘B’ team) as attacking cover. The coach could also hand Brahim Díaz, who signed from Manchester City last week and played some minutes of the Copa del Rey tie against Leganés mid-week, his LaLiga debut.

The other big question is whether Solari will start Isco, who has been out of favour since the arrival of the Argentine coach at the end of October. If the Spaniard is overlooked, despite the fact that Madrid are missing seven players, it would send a very clear message about his standing with the manager.
