Porto’s Eder Militao has been one of the names linked with Real Madrid in this winter transfer market, with AS reporting on Thursday that the LaLiga club want to sign the Brazilian and are considering paying his 50 million euro buyout clause.

If Madrid do not make a move before January 31, they will have to wait until the end of June, at which point his clause will rise to 75 million euros. But the player’s agent has ruled out any move this winter.

“There is no possibility of the player leaving his current club in the winter market,” Militao’s agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, confirmed to AS.

Militao’s performances have drawn much attention

Militao joined Porto from Sao Paolo for 4 million euros last summer and has settled in excellently to Primeira Liga football.

The 21-year-old has been chosen as the Portuguese league defender of the month for the past four consecutive months, and his impressive performances have placed him on the radar of several clubs, including Manchester United.

With Madrid having to deal with the constant injuries of Vallejo and Varane, the club are eager to bring in a quality central defender. Militao has a contract with Porto until 2023, but there is every indication that he could be on his way to the Santiago Bernabéu in June.

“We’re not ruling out his signing for Real Madrid in the summer,” his agent told AS.

Reinier Jesus

Bertolucci also represents Flamengo’s promising teenager player Reinier Jesus, who is reportedly another target of Real Madrid. The 16-year-old already has a buyout clause of 70 million euros set by Flamengo, the club from which Madrid bought Vinicius for 40 million euros in 2017.

Bertolucci would not be drawn into much about Reinier’s future, only stating: "He is a very talented player, he is a child today, but he is already marking the great future that awaits him.”
