Jardim returns to Monaco to take the reins back from Thierry Henry

Monaco have turned to the coach they sacked back in October, to come back following Thierry Henry's failed attempts to get the team back on track.

Update:
El entrenador Leonardo, Jardim.

Following Thierry Henry's dismissal at AS Monaco, the Ligue 1 club are looking for a replacement who knows the entity inside out. Leonardo Jardim is set to return - the Portuguese coach returns to the post he occupied until he was sacked three months ago, with Thierry Henry taking over the post a couple of days later. The club is expected to make an official statement today.

Agreement reached

A decision was reached over dinner last night in which club vice-president Vadim Vasiley,  General Director Nicolas Holveck, agent Jorge Mendes and Leonardo Jardim reached an agreement for a two and a half-year deal.

Jardim takes back the reins at Monaco - the club he guided to win the Ligue 1 title two years ago as well as taking the team to the Champions League semi-finals. He also experienced the other, less glorious moments - the team bowed out of the Champions League finishing bottom of their group and he was sacked in October with Monaco yet to register a win.

Monaco currently sit second from bottom in the Ligue 1 table and were eliminated from the Coupe de France earlier this week. Jardim will begin his second stint at Monaco with the difficult task of hauling the side out of the relegation places.
