Atlético ask Inter to name price for Perisic - Italian press
La Gazzetta dello Sport insists that Ivan Perisic does not want to continue in Italy and has asked Inter to let him go.
On Wednesday, Italian daily Corriere della Sera revealed Atlético Madrid’s interest in Inter Milan mildfielder Ivan Perisic, claiming the 29-year-old Croatian is not happy at the San Siro and is looking for a way out.
Gazzetta dello Sport follows up the story this Saturday with reports that Atlético have made contact to find out more about the player’s situation and Inter’s price tag, which is understood to be between 35 and 40 million euros.
Gazzetta also claims that Perisic does not want to continue in Italy and has asked Inter to let him go. His desire is reportedly a move to the Premier League, where Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in the Croatian. But it is not the only destination that would be attractive to him, meaning Atlético could be a viable option.
Inter reportedly have no intention of retaining the player against his will, while coach Luciano Spalletti has tried to play down the situation and stated that he hopes Perisic continues at the Serie A club.
"It is normal to talk about Perisic, he is an important player and he has offers. We don’t talk about those who don't have them (offers). Perisic knows his profession and I hope he continues with it, maybe giving us more," said Spalleti.
Since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015, Perisic has played 143 games for Inter, scoring 34 goals and providing 34 assists.
