Martín Demichelis defends his house and family from hooded thieves
The former Bayern, Atlético, Man City and Malaga defender woke up by chance and scared off the robbers who took off with money and some valuables.
Martín Demichelis might have retired from playing football in 2017 but he played defense on Saturday night to protect his family from a robbery at their home in Marbella while everyone was sleeping.
The 38-year-old's story came to light on 'Los Ángeles de la mañana' thanks to his co-worker, Cinthis Fernández, who explained exactly what happened.
According to her re-telling, the house was broken into by three or potentially four hooded men. They aren't sure of how many there were as it happened so fast. As his wife, model Evangelina Anderson and their kids were in bed, the men entered.
"Martín (Demichelis) was sleeping and he woke up by chance," she said. "He caught them to obviously defend his house and he gave them a good fright. There was a lot of shouting and the kids were very scared."
Fernández said that the thieves took money and jewellery because "they robbed them when they were sleeping and Martin woke up so the left running" and said that the polive are investigating the matter.
The former Bayern Munich, Malaga, Atlético Madrid and Manchester City defender lives in a very secure and residential area and the panelist on the show says it was very strange but says the family are doing okay and not considering leaving the house or the area.
