Neymar Jr will not be leaving PSG this summer. That is the message coming from the player's agent, his father, Neymar Da Silva.

Madrid not in Neymar's plans

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been strongly linked with a move back to LaLiga, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly involved in discussions. However, in an interview with Brazilian television programme Grande Círculo Neymar senior was adamant that his son would not be leaving for Los Blancos: "Ney will not go to Real Madrid!"

This was not the only area covered in the discussion. The influential parent also assured those listening about some of the finances behind his sons contract.

"Paris Saint-Germain pays my son his salary and bonuses that are all in his contract," clarifying that his image rights were not connected to the Ligue 1 club, as they had been during his time at Barcelona. Another element of the Brazilian's time in Spain was his court case with the tax authorities, but his father said they were all very calm about this situation.

Messi shadow not important

Away from the money, Neymar senior denied multiple reports that his son had any problems with teammate Edinson Cavani. He also rejected the idea that the departure from Barça was to step out of the shadow cast by Lionel Messi.

"My son did not leave Barça because he felt in the shadow of Messi. When he received the call from the Emir, who showed interest in bringing a new star into an ambitious team, we took notice," he said.
