Former Real Madrid president Ramón Calderón spoke to La Sexta about who will be the next coach of Los Blancos. Calderón explained that Florentino Pérez made a personal call to Zinedine Zidane in a bid to tempt the Frenchman back to the Bernabéu to replace, as of immediate effect, Santiago Hernán Solari. "I know that this morning, the president phoned Zidane to ask him to come back but Zidane told him that for now, it's not something he is interested in".

Not the right moment

However, although Zidane, who has taken time out from the game, turned down the offer to return to his old job as of now, he hasn't completly closed the door on taking on the job in the summer. "He's left himself open to the possibility of coming back in June", Calderón said. In the meantime, no one knows for certain whether Solari will still be in charge of the team for Sunday night's away game at Valladolid.

In spite of Florentino's attempts to persuade Zidane, Calderón added, "The president's first option has always been José Mourinho".
