Barcelona: Clásico at Real Madrid to see 'Senyera' kit used - Sport
The daily claims that Barcelona are to introduce a fourth kit inspired by the Catalan flag in 2019/20, and wear it at the Santiago Bernabéu.
A report in the Catalan media has claimed that Barcelona are planning to change their colours for selected big games next season - most notably when they face arch rivals Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.
Barcelona to wear Catalan-flag kit away to Real Madrid
According to the newspaper Sport, Barça are set to introduce a fourth-choice shirt featuring a design inspired by Catalonia's flag, the 'Senyera': four diagonal red lines emblazoned across a yellow background.
While it is nothing new for the club to have such a kit, the decision to wear it away to Madrid would be a first; it is pretty much the only fixture in which deviating from their home colours has never been an option for the Blaugrana.
"It will be an exclusive design for a big occasion," Sport declares, "and will also be used for other big occasions throughout the season."
The publication adds: "The decision was taken by the Barça board long before Ernesto Valverde's men claimed two successive victories at the Bernabéu two weeks ago. Some will see this as opportunism, but there is no improvisation when it comes to matters of this sort."
2019/20 shaping up as season of kit experimentation
The strip is not the only striking design that Nike, Barcelona's kit suppliers since 1998, are thought to have in store for the Catalans in 2019/20.
