Icardi back with Inter Milan

Icardi back with Inter Milan

Argentinean striker Mauro Icardi was back with Inter Milan this Thursday, after an absence of more than a month caused by his contract wrangles with the club.

The 26-year-old's disappearance began when he was stripped of the captain's armband on 13 February. At the time he had complained of a knee injury, but the club's medical services confirmed a scan had shown no damage to the joint. Icardi told the club he would "play when he was ready".

Icardi returns to training

Icardi was back training with a reduced squad at Inter Milan, given that most of his teammates are off on international duty.

Icardi was joint top-scorer in the Italian league last season with 29 goals alongside Immobile, and has fired home 15 this season on all fronts. However he's not scored since 15 December and hasn't played since 9 February this season.

Icardi has finally returned to training, although he is yet to sign a new contract with the club despite extended talks between Inter and Icardi's wife and agent Wanda Nara.
