Venezuela forced to play Catalonia in Decathlon hiking shirts

After the fallout from Friday's win over Argentina which ended in coach Rafael Dudamel offering to resign in an effort to distance himself from the mixing of sports and politics in thetroubled South American nation, the fall out after Monday's friendly game in Girona against Catalonia leaves the national team kit supplier and federation with a red face.

For reasons as yet unknown, Venezuela's kit manufacturer Givova failed to deliver adequate kit for the players and representatives from the Italian brand were forced to purchase burgundy shirts from a local Decathlon store with the Givova and Venezuela FA branding later added.

His post showed how the Italian brand and Venezuela crest were both superimposed over the 'Quechua' brand which is the sub-brand from Decathlon's hiking department with the MH500 hiking shirt available for €10 in European stores.
