Pogba's first coach: "He should go to Madrid, Zidane loves him"
Paul Pogba's connections with the Spanish language go way back with his brothers playing at Celta and his partner hailing from Bolivia.
Paul Pogba's fluency in Spanish is a point in his favour when it comes to his potential move to Real Madrid. The French midfielder is a ployglot and speaks several languages including his native French. He picked up Italian in Turin, English in Manchester and Spanish through his inner circle including his partner, bolivian María Zulay Salaues. In January of this year, the pair gave borth to their first son. He is close friends with Antoine Griezmann and Paulo Dybala and thanks to his Spanish speaking friends, his Spanish is always improving.
Pogba was born in a small town of 20,000 inhabitants. His parents arrived from Guinea and moved into La Renardiere where Yeo, Pogba's mother, looked after Paul, Mathias and Florentin. The pair were at Celta Vigo's academy beteeen 2007 and 2009.
Pogba playing beyond his years at 10 years of age
Pogba quickly started to shine on the fields around where he lived. On the Roissy US field, now artificial grass and before it was sand, Pogba started to make a name for himself. "He was technically brilliant," his first trainer, Sambou Tati tells As. "I remember when he was 10, we played a team in Saint-Raphael and the parents of the other teams complained because they said he was older than what we said. It wasn't true."
He was with his town's team until he was 15 at which point he moved to Torcy for a year and then he signed for Le Havre where he made it to the top. His career has taken him to Manchester United, Juventus and then back to United with the architect of all his moves being agent Mina Raiola. In Pogba, he found a gold mine with a strong personality that works well with his way of doing business.
Besides football, Pogba has two main hobbies. Table Tennis and music. His United teammates say it's a rare day that you don't see Pogba dancing or singing in the dressing room. This is another main reason why he has become loved wherever he has played. "With Diego Llorente, I learned Spanish," he said about his meeting with the Spanish striker in Juventus. "I would advise him to go to the Bernabéu," his first coach says. "Zidane is there and he loves him very much."
