New York City FC records first win of the season
DC United lost for the second time at home this season, with NYCFC defeating the team from Washington to record a vital first win of the season.
Wayne Rooney and DC United hosted New York City FC in week eight of the MLS season, whith both teams looking to get their season back on track, particularly DC United, who scraped out a win against the Rapids.
New York City arrived in Washington with one goal in mind: their first win of the season. On paper, it was a task that did not seem so straightforward given that DC United are leaders of the East Conference without truly convincing.
The New York side started controlling the ball early in the match, closing down spaces and blocking every attempt coming from the home team, and in the 34th minute their efforts were rewarded when Miltrita score to give them the lead.
Before the end of the first half, DC United conceded a penalty, but Moralez didn't take the chance to put New York 2-0 up with 45 minutes gone, and missed his spot kick.

Heber finally grabbed the second goal of the game at the 56th minute to give New York City FC their first win of the season, while DC United endured its second loss at home.
