Benzema: "My style of playing is for people who love the game"
"It's not been a great year for Real Madrid, but on a personal level it's been good", maintained Benzema in Spanish GQ.
Karim Benzema is the latest cover star on the May edition of GQ Spain where the French striker reviewed his season with Real Madrid and talked about the return of Zinedine Zidane on the Bernabeu bench.

Look back at the season: "This is has been a complicated campaign for Real Madrid but on a personal level I've worked hard at Valdebebas and at home. I'm always looking to deliver for people who enjoy the game".
Present and future: "We want to win the remaining games this season and are also starting to focus on the 2019-20 campaign.
Demands: "Since I was a kid, I've had to live with various types of pressure. It's true that at Real Madrid we're under the microscope more than at other sides as it's the best club in the world. The fans demand the best of us and we're constantly under observation from all quarters, at times that is tricky to take on board. Personally I find I perform well under pressure as it makes one stronger and is a driving force for one to deliver 100% on the field of play. I feel there is good and bad types pressure, I thrive under positive pressure and it helps one maintain a high level of play".

Your style of play: "You may see things in the game in a different manner to I do and that's not an issue. My dad and I have very different views on the game for example and that leads to plenty of banter between us. I know that as a Real Madrid player, people will have high expectations and that's totally acceptable. I'm always looking to give the supporters something different, they may like what I do or not but I want to express myself with the ball. I like to play a brand of football for people who come to the stadium to see something different"
Zidane: "I believe and I know its shared by many others that Zizou is a top drawer coach. He was a legend as a player and this is true in his coaching career. Zizou is different to other managers as oozes calm and gives added confidence to the squad. With his style of playing we retain greater percentages of possession and this is the way I like to play. I'm really happy that he's back with us again".
