Casillas sends message after heart attack: "I'm ok"

The Porto goalkeeper, who suffered a heart attack at training, sent a message from his hospital bed, where he's recovering.

Iker Casillas tweeted from his hospital bed after a heart attack at training.

Iker Casillas sent a reassuring message to his friends and families as soon as he was able to pick up a telephone after undergoing a heart catheterisation procedure following a heart attack at training this Wednesday, according to sources who spoke to this newspaper.

"I'm ok", wrote the Porto goalkeeper, who would have opened his phone to the hundreds of messages of support sent in the wake of the news.

Later, the 38-year-old took to Twitter to post a reassuring message to his followers accompanied by a picture of him in his hospital bed, smiling and giving the thumbs up.

"Everything under control, a big fright but strong as ever. Huge thanks for all the messages and love," the former Real Madrid player tweeted.

Casillas stable

"Casillas is ok, stable and the cardiac problem has been fixed", was the official message from the goalie's club in a statement released at 17:00. According to the Porto the keeper is out of danger and is doing well.

Casillas receiving visits

Casillas has even been able to receive visits, from friends such as Alberto Bueno, who is playing with Boavista and teammate at Porto, Oliver Torres. Both players spoke to the press as they left the Hospital CUF Porto, where Casillas was taken after feeling indisposed at training, and said that Iker was feeling ok.
