The Columbus Crew goalkeeper, who missed last weekend's loss to LAFC due to discomfort in his foot, has remained out of training and has been spotted wearing a protective boot. Colombus coach Caleb Porter has said the injury might have happened during Wednesday's win over LA Galaxy.

"He said his foot got more and more sore as the day went on, Friday morning he had a swollen foot that was bruised, and it gradually got worse and worse. He's in a walking boot; he couldn't put weight on it. We had him come in this morning to see if he was any better and it wasn't any better," explained Porter.

Steffen's diagnosis could alter Gregg Berhalter's roster for this summer's Gold Cup with their first warm-up game set for June 5th against Jamaica at Audi Field, followed by the match against Venezuela on June 9th at Nippert Stadium.
