Hazard-inspired Chelsea beat Arsenal in Europa League final

GAME OVER! Chelsea are the Europa League winners. 

All but done now. Chelsea players on the sideline ready to run onto the field.

Three minutes of added time.

Hazard off for Zappacosta.

Hazard down injured. He grabs his calf but it looks like it's his foot.

Arsenal huffing and puffing but nothing doing yet. 

Willoxk to Lacazette and he gets it back. He tries to curl it beyond Kepa but it's just wide. 

A golden opportunity. Arsenal somehow manage to miss it. There were about 8 of them offside anyway but they still should have managed to score.

Azpilicueta with the latest effort. He drives it wide! 

Willian with a run into the box and strike. Cech with the save and it's out for a corner. Cech has done well in his final game tonight! 

Kovacic off for Barkley.

Hazard torturing Arsenal. Another effort and it's a nice one too. Saved by Cech.

Pedro goes off for Willian.

Iwobi fouled and Christensen is booked.

Monreal off for Iwobi.

He just barges into his back. Not much doubt over it.

PENALTY! Giroud taken out of it by Maitland-Niles. 

Kovacic all but mounted there as two Arsenal players chase him and pull him back. He plays it forward and the ref says there was advantage played. Looked a poor decision really.

A couple of efforts for Arsenal. Crossed in from the impressive Maitland-Niles and Aubameyang tries a half-backed chilena and gives away the free but not before Torreira lashes one towards goal.

Pedro wanted a free for the foul by Lacazette and lets the referee know. The referee's answer is to book him.

Lacazette picks up the ball in the area. Dangerous position but he is swarmed by Chelsea jerseys. Pedro gets the brunt of his shoulder as he clears.

Maitland-Niles with a throw into Lacazette and he gets it in a dangerous position but can't control it. 

Giroud tries to get a ball way out to the right. He slips after the ball goes out of play and he asks for a second. Looked like he might have done damage to his groin but he's back up.

Aubameyang with a nice stepover and cross but it's over Lacazette's head. 

11 goals in 14 games for Giroud.

Pedro penalised now for a foul on Kolasinac. 

Giroud played in by Hazard. And just as he plays it off, Monreal clatters into him. Advantage played and Giroud wins a corner. But Hazard isn't happy as that was very cynical from the Arsenal defender.

Aubameyang drives down the right straight off the bat and see his cross deflected into the arms of Kepa.

We are back underway for the second half! 

Chelsea's best effort and a fine save from Cech.

Everyone in agreement that this hasn't been great so far.

Not as much as a second of added time. 0-0 in Baku.

Hazard waits for Emerson and he lays it off. Corner. But the referee says the full-back had strayed offside. 

Corner is half-cleared and falls kindly to Pedro. His effort is blocked up and out for another corner.

Giroud with a good effort. Cech with an impressive save. Ball inside from Hazard and touched on by Jorginho. That's Chelsea's best effort yet. They win a corner.

Lacazette gets a clip from behind from Emerson. Really sore one too as he got a knee in the glute, it looked like.

Emerson with a throw. 

Kolasinac with a cross and again it's Kepa with the fisted clearance. 

Hazard does well again to win the ball. He crosses and Giroud just can't shape his body to send it towards goal. He tries a contrived effort but it's well wide.

Hazard with a wonderful flick into Emerson's path. He shoots and forces a really good save from Cech.

Sokratis gets a header on the corner. He can't get under it though as it's out and over for a goalkick.

Lacazette plays it back into the middle and it's out wide to Kolasinac. He sends one towards goal. Looks like a cross but it turns into a shot as it takes a deflection off Azpilicueta. Corner.

Azpilicueta with the effort that's blocked. 

Corner sent in and headed out just as quick. Kanté sends it back in and Arsenal win a free. 

Hazard tries to get a run on Sokratis but the defender gets a leg on it and it's cleared. But only as far as a Chelsea player as Hazard plays it out wide to Emerson. His shot is blocked by Sokratis again. Corner for Chelsea! 

We are half an hour in here and it's still scoreless. Arsenal looking more likely at the moment.

Xhaka with the effort! Drives it over the bar. 

Aubameyang with the cross into box. Headed out just in time with Lacazette arriving to tap it home. Chelsea under increasing pressure. 

Giroud can't control a ball into the box and it's out for a restart. 

Chance for Arsenal to swing it in. It lands in the box and comes off someone's knee. Looked like Azpilicueta's as Kepa smothers it and averts the danger.

Pedro pushes Monreal and Arsenal win a free. Chelsea struggling here and can't really get the ball. Quite a stop-start game though with lots of frees and stoppages.

Kepa and Azpi collide. Ball sent down to Lacazette but the defender gets goalside of him and the two Chelsea players clatter each other. Kepa down and got the worst of it.

Maitland-Niles down the right again and he sends it in but Jorginho slides in to clear. Corner again for Arsenal, who are definitely enjoying this more than Chelsea so far.

Lacazette fouled now by Christensen. 

Kepa takes down Lacazette. Looked a penalty but he said no. He says but the replay shows he caught the attacker. Kepa a very lucky chap.

Corner comes to nothing. This game needs a goal.

Kolasinac down the left and he kicks it inside but Azpilicueta blocks it. Corner but the Spanish defender says it came off the Arsenal player. It's a corner despite his protests.

Luiz with a foul from the free. Didn't look like much really but an Arsenal player wound up on the ground.

Sokratis with a meaty challenge on Giroud, who is down grabbing his foot. Free for Chelsea. Straight down on top of Giroud's foot.

Aubameyang rifles one low and hard into Lacazette but it flies past him. Arsenal continue to look decent going forward.

Kovacic goes on a dribble but loses it.

Replay suggests his leg was clipped.

Hazard with a one-two with Giroud and he hits the ground but no free. Tried to buy that one but ref wasn't convinced.

Accident there as Giroud runs across Koscielny and clips his legs. Not intentional, it seems. 

Maitland-Niles sends it in from the right. It's cleared as far as Aubameyang and he strikes wide. Kepa with a two-fisted clearance but it wasn't very convincing. 

Torreira sends it in and it's out for a throw. Chelsea not seeing as much of the ball. 

Lacazette has his jersey pulled and gets a knee in the back of the leg for himself as Luiz gets a little over-aggressive. Free for Arsenal.

Long ball down to Aubameyang and he jumps straight into Christensen with forearms flying. 

Chelsea back in possession. Emerson takes off and plays it ahead to Hazard. A buzz around the stadium when the Belgian picks up the ball. But he gets turned around and sent backwards.

Hazard fouled by Maitland-Niles. 

Monreal vs Azpilicueta down the left as Arsenal start their first attack. They don't look comfortable on it at all and give it back to Chelsea but they win it back in the end! 

Chelsea dominating the ball so far. Arsenal not sitting too deep either. Chelsea win a throw as Hazard tries to spring the offside trap. And they keep possession. 

Ball launched forward by Luiz and Cech grabs it.

Chelsea on the ball to start. Azpi moves forward and his pass into the middle is cut out and cleared only as far as a blue shirt.

The teams are on the field too. I didn't see them with all the others stuff going on. There are still stages and loads of dancers there too. A bit overkill really.

The dancing and singing is over. It's safe to unmute your televisions. We are nearly ready for kick-off.

Arsenal got through Valencia at the Mestalla in the second leg of their semi-final with relative ease. They beat them 4-2 with goals from Lacazette (1) and Aubameyang (3). 

Chelsea didn't have it as easy, however, as they had to beat Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties with Eden Hazard sliding the winner home.

There was a strange tone to training yesterday ahead of the game. Luiz was a little rough with Higuain and Sarri threw his hat on the ground in frustration but he was just upset that the session was open and they couldn't run through their set-pieces. 

And the teams respective leaders in various categories.

Petr Cech will play his final game in a European final. The 37-year-old has played for 20 seasons and won practically everything in club football. Another chance to add a trophy tonight.

Team news is in and Kanté starts. Sarri's update on Tuesday was as follows: "The problem is the timing because we had only four days to try to recover him. We are trying. At the moment we don’t know. We will try until the last moment. We will try tomorrow, but at the moment we don’t know."

He said that he was 50/50 to start but it looks like he has won his battle against the clock. Let's see how long he lasts tonight and just how fit he is.
