The Frenchman started in Mecca, flew on to Turin for the retirement party of former Juve team mate Andrea Barzagli, and then enjoyed a quick stint in Abu Dhabi, before meeting up with his France team mates to prepare for their upcoming games at the start of June.

And while his attention will be focused on his national team duties over the coming few days, the Frenchman still has one eye on his future and expects Real Madrid to reactivate their efforts to sign him during the next month.

Pogba is a special request of Zinedine Zidane. And knowing that Zidane will have a lot of sway over transfer decisions this summer, the 26-year-old hopes that Madrid will make every effort to satisfy the coach’s petitions.

Pogba Madrid move set to be a complicated operation

But as much as Pogba and Zidane want the deal to happen, it will be a complicated operation. Although Zidane is clear about what the Manchester United midfielder can bring to the Bernabéu, he has not yet convinced Madrid president Florentino Perez.

United are also reluctant to leave him go, and furthermore, his agent, Mino Raiola, who does not maintain a good relationship with Perez, is another obstacle standing in the way of his move to the Spanish capital. Aside from Madrid, Juventus, where he played from 2012 to 2016, are also keen to bring him back to Turin.

By their part, Manchester United are going to do everything in their power to try to retain their French talisman. The Red Devils are set to offer him a contract extension (his current deal ends in 2021) as they look to make him the cornerstone of the new project led by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian coach has reportedly offered to make him the club’s captain in a bid to convince him to stay. Whatever happens, the Pogba saga is set to drag on for another while yet.
