REAL MADRID

Vinicius: Real Madrid boss Zidane would welcome a loan deal

Zidane's doubts are a worry for the 18-year-old, although he does have the support of Florentino Pérez, who sees him as an important member of the Madrid squad.

Update:
Vinicius: Real Madrid boss Zidane would welcome a loan deal

Zidane and Florentino

The future of Vinicius lies in a difference of opinion between Zinedine Zidane and the Real Madrid board. The Madrid coach still has reservations about the 18-year-old's role in the side and would welcome a loan deal for the youngster next season, a stance those at the top of the club do not share, with Florentino Pérez of the opinion that the Brazilian remains a useful member of the squad.

Zidane's opinion is a major concern for the player and his agent, although the Madrid president has already ruled out a loan deal, despite numerous offers coming in, including from Ronaldo's Valladolid.

Limited playing time

The problems between coach and player stem from the forward's disappointment over the way Zidane managed his return from injury. Vinicius was given the green light from the medical staff before Madrid's game against Athletic on 21 April, but Zidane didn't include him in his matchday squad and continued to omit him for the following fixtures against Getafe and Rayo. This was followed by limited game-time against Villarreal, Real Sociedad and Betis, a situation which has also affected the youngster's chances of being a key part of Brazil's Copa América squad and his ability to convince Brazil coach Tite of his worth in the side.
