USA women's team, the oldest of the World Cup
The United States women's national team has an average of 29 years old in its roster with half the team being in their 30s.

In France, Jill Ellis squad is the defending champion, and after the game against Thailand, the team showcased themselves as the one to beat in this tournament.
The United States team has an average of 29 years old, which makes them the oldest squad in the tournament, and second-oldest in the competition's history. The record also belongs to the Bars and Stars, but by the team of four years ago, that reached the finals in Canada, as they had a members average of 29 years and five months.
Of the current 24-girls roster, Carli Lloyd is the most experienced one and the oldest of the team with 36 years old, she has been in 18 Women's World Cup games, with a total of eight goals from which six were at the 2015 edition while Tierna Davidson is the youngest player of the team with 20-years-old.
The USWNT has 11 players in their 30s with 12 in their 20s, with two players making their first roster at age 31, Allie Long and Jessica McDonald.

The women's Bars and Stars squad started its World Cup journey with a resounding defeat over Thailand (13-0) which was the biggest winning margin in the competition history.
