Mexico with Antuna showcased its Gold Cup power against Cuba
Gerardo Martino surprised with Uriel Antuna in the starting lineup, but the young LA Galaxy winger proved his quality by scoring a hat-trick.
Mexico is one of the top teams in this 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup, besides being the National team with more trophies of the tournament, which is why El Tri is obliged to win the championship.
Gerardo 'Tata' Martino faces its first big task as the Mexican national team head coach, and for its opening Gold Cup match, the Argentine strategist surprised with LA Galaxy winger, Uriel Antuna in the starting lineup, but the youngster proved why Martino trusted him.
The game was just starting, with people not even sit, when Antuna found the back of Sánchez net to open the scoreboard in favor of the Mexican team at the second minute of the match, and with him, the scoring party began.
Despite Mexico's lack of aim since most of their shots didn't end at the back of the net, Tata Martino's side crushed Cuba with Antuna giving an excellent performance and scoring a hat-trick. Raúl Jimenez also had a good night although the striker seemed pressured to score at first, the Wolverhampton forward found himself and help Mexico with two goals.
The game finished 7-0 for Mexico that gives a step up in their quest to conquer the CONCACAF tournament once again, showcasing that beating them won't be easy no matter what.
