PSG: Al-Khelaïfi: "I've told Neymar's father what I expect from the players"
The PSG president told France Football that the team needs a change in attitude. "We lack that winning culture, the desire to win that Liverpool have shown".
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is setting the bar high for PSG next season. The French champions won't be satisfied with continuing their domestic successes and are keen to finally make their mark on the international stage.
PSG lack a winning spirit
"I want to turn PSG into a winning club", Al-Khelïfi told France Football and added that there is still some fine-tuning to do to make the team into world beaters. "We've taken a step backwards - I'm the first one to blame for our lack of character and authority. At the end of last season we showed the weaknesses we have - a lack of committment, involvement, determination and mentality from our players. So we have to make changes and that will be a decision I have to make. We don't have that winning culture - that spirit which Liverpool showed; they were capable of playing two Champions League finals, losing one then bouncing back to win it".
More expected from Neymar
As for Neymar, Al-Khelïfi added: "I've spoke to his father and I have told him what is expected of players at PSG - that's something which Ney and the others need to be aware of. I'm sure that one day we will win the Champions League - that is our objective, not just our dream".
