It has been confirmed that four-time Grammy award nominee Femi Anikulapo-Kuti will be taking to the stage as part of the introductory celebrations. The legendary Nigerian will also be joined by singers Hakim and Dobet Gnahore to belt out the tournament's official song, 'Metgamaeen' ('We're together') and generally get the crowd's juices flowing.
Egyptian folk singer Hakim issued a bold message to fans on his official Instagram account: “Wait for me on Friday in the opening ceremony of the AFCON. We will make an astounding opening celebration; the whole world will be speaking about it.”
