FC Cincinnati looking overseas for its new coach
This season's new MLS Franchise is in desperate need of a new coach after losing nine of their last ten games and letting Alan Koch go in May.
FC Cincinnati, this season's new MLS franchise, has lost nine of its last 10 games leaving them in a desperate situation and struggling in the Eastern Conference.
Cincinnati have been without a manager since May after sacking Alan Koch and now big names, both foreign and domestic, are being sounded out to take on the vacant hot seat with the leading candidates being Alan Pardew, Aitor Karanka and Tab Ramos, according to ESPN.
The most intriguing name is that of Englishman Pardew, former manager of clubs like West Ham, Newcastle, Charlton and Crystal Palace, and the 57-year-old could provide a boost of experience the new MLS team needs, although he is also known as a somewhat controversial coach due to his tactical rigidity.
Karanka is also a candidate to coach FC Cincinnati after parting company with Nottingham Forest; he is familiar with the American league as he used to play for the Colorado Rapids but also has a lot of experience on the managerial side after being assistant coach to José Mourinho at Real Madrid and manager of Middlesbrough.
Karanka is expected to have talks with the MLS team in the coming weeks, though Pardew is the front-runner for the vacant Cincinnati job.
