Ceballos wants to stay at Real Madrid
The Real Madrid central midfielder spoke on Spanish radio and said he thought next year would be his best ever.
Real Madrid central midfielder Dani Ceballos, currently on duty with Spain's U-21 side who beat France this evening to book a place in the final of Euro 2019, spoke to Spanish radio station Onda Cero about his future at the Spanish giants.
Real Madrid are said to be willing to sell the player, although they won't accept any offer under 50 million euros.
Ceballos desperate to stay with Real Madrid
"I don't want them to sell me... I want to have fun and feel important wherever I am. I've got more than enough football in me and next year's going to be my best ever," he said.
The footballer, who isn't in Zidane's plans for next year, is to leave on loan for 2019/20 and come back the season after. But right now he's loving the European Under-21 championships: "I play to have fun and I'm desperate to show what I'm worth. It's not been my greatest year this season but I was really keen that things would go my way. The final could be the most important game of my life, and for me this season is not over".
As to the semi-final 4-1 thrashing of France Ceballos said, "Things were tough going a goal down, but the team had confidence and we felt really comfortable. Now we're got three days to rest and it could be the game of our lives. It's a chance for revenge, because two years ago they steamrollered us, it was a rout".
