Young Boys: Search for missing captain Florijana Ismaili continues in Lake Como
Young Boys captain Florijana Ismaili disappeared in Lake Como, Lombardy Italy on Saturday after diving into the water from a small boat.
BS Young Boys' women's team captain and Switzerland international Florijana Ismaili went missing yesterday evening. The Swiss club has issued an official statement, confirming that the 24-year-old player disappeared in Lake Como, Lombardy - the third largest lake in Italy.
Alarm rasied
According to reports, Ismaili hired a small boat to take out onto the lake and dived into the water but never surfaced. BS Young Boys Frauen have given details of the search operation, which started yesterday in Lake Como, and remain hopeful that they can still find her even though it has been over 24 hours since she was declared missing.
The Swiss club add that they are in permanent contact with Ismaili's family while the search for her continues. Both are extremely worried.
The striker made her international debut for Switzerland against Portugal in 2014 and has been capped 33 times at full international level, scoring three goals. She joined Young Boys Frauen in 2011 from another Nationalliga club, FC Walperswil.
