Global launch for official Qatar 2022 World Cup emblem
The official emblem for the FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup was unveiled today with a simultaneous presentation in major cities' iconic buildings and public spaces.
The Official Emblem of the 22nd edition of the FIFA #WorldCup was unveiled today as FIFA and host country Qatar reached another major milestone on the road to the world’s greatest football showpiece.
In Spain, the logo was displayed on the iconic Cines Callao building in Plaza de Callao, a square in the heart of the Spanish capital.
Many footballers and FIFA World Cup legends (including Kaka, Ronaldo Nazario and Carli Lloyd amongst others) also took to their social media networks to share the emblem with their online followers.

Besides echoing the shape of the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy, the emblem’s central form takes inspiration from a traditional woollen shawl. During winter months, shawls are worn around the world and in the Arab and Gulf region in particular.
The regionally inspired winter garment also alludes to the tournament’s start dates and the fact that it will be the first FIFA World Cup to be played in November and December.
