Germany can't tame energetic Netherlands
Germany vs Netherlands: as it happened!
GAME OVER! Germany led through Gnabry early on but Netherlands eventually responded through De Jong. They went ahead through an own goal but that lead didn't last either.
Kroos scored a penalty after De Ligt handled the ball unbeknownst to himself. Netherlands wouldn't lie down and Malen got a goal on his debut before Wijnaldum wrapped things up in a lively affair in Hamburg.
One last chance. Ball clipped over the top from Kimmich and he hits it on the volley. Hits the outside of the post and wide.
GOAL! Wijnaldum knocks home a low pass from the wing from Depay. Way too easy for Netherlands. 4-2.
Germany pushing for the leveller.
Van Dijk kicks one back to Cillessen. He didn't mean it though and he takes his time to pick it up.
Babel off for Ake. Koeman shutting up shop.
Malen finished and makes it 3-2. Wijnaldum to Malen from Depay's pass. Beautiful goal. Wonderful football. Great game.
Babel strikes but that's well wide. Frenkie de Jong having an exceptional game as he drives forward again and created that attack.
Kroos with a lovely ball down the channel. It's squared and Netherlands survive with a last ditch tackle.
Malen nearly makes it 3-2. Ball across from the left and he sends it towards Neuer but he saves.

De Ligt whistled for a hand ball. The ball comes down and hits him on the arm. Schulz looked like he was offside though. Really, really unfortunate for the Juventus defender.
Onus now on Germany. Their plan always was to counter but now they find themselves behind.
GOAL! There it is! Netherlands turn this one around. Van Dijk header and Neuer saves it but can only parry. Depay sends it across goal and Tah sends it into his own net.
Game has died down now as Netherlands gather their thoughts after the equaliser.
Frenkie de Jong with the finish. 1-1. He took the cross from Babel down just lovely and finished beyond Neuer.
Malen and Propper on for Netherlands and De Roon and Dumfries off.
Lovely attack. Dumfries to Depay, Depay to Wijnaldum and then Wijnaldum onto the gloves of Neuer. Good save, good shot. There's more goals in this game.
Kimmich saves the day. Ball across the box and Wijnaldum is waiting to knock it home but the defender gets a foot to it. Game is really opening up now.
Schulz with another dangerous ball across the box and Werner tries to turn it home. Van Dijk puts it over for a corner.
Reus drives forward and has the ball nicked off him by De Roon. Cross in from Schulz and Gnabry so nearly gets something on that. Germany way more dangerous in this half. Netherlands continue to look shaky at the back.
Promes cuts onto his right and drives a bouncing shot at Neuer. The Bayern keeper gets down and makes no fuss about it.
A delivery into the back post and it's Reus waiting for the ball from Gnabry. Cleared by Netherlands and a corner.
De Roon with a foul on Kroos. He gets booked for going right through the German. He looks surprised but he shouldn't be.
It was Depay with the pass to Dumfries. Lovely run and pass as he was being fouled.
Netherlands starting this half they way they finished the last. Dumfries into the box but he gets bundled over and Germany clear.
Ginter down early as he grabs his hip. He limps off but looks ready to continue as he walks to the sideline.

HALF-TIME! All action from Netherlands but Germany lead through Gnabry.
Gnabry tries to counter as he plays to Reus and the return pass is off target and overhit. One last chance for Netherlands to attack.
Neuer launches clear but Van Dijk has it covered.
Reus with a shot from point blank range. Cillessen with the save.
Netherlands getting tired after punching themselves out here. Germany might try to strike with just a few minutes left to play.
Blind across to Dumfries. He was wide open but can't control it cleanly. Crossed in and Depay heads a looper over the bar.
Corner for Netherlands.
Germany bring it out from the back but Netherlands chasing them down like a pack of starving men on a Christmas ham. They win it back.

Kimmich gets himself booked! Meanwhile, Depay goes in the book too for jumping into the row. He confronted Kimmich and the referee shows him yellow too.
Row here! Kimmich caught a Netherlands player with an arm and it's kicking off here.
Netherlands continue to push. Wijnaldum looks for Depay but Germany close down all avenues again. It doesn't seem like they have control of this game and don't in a traditional sense but they remain a threat on the counter.
Kroos fouled by De Roon as Germany catch their breath.
Depay dangerous every time he touches the ball. He wins a corner this time.
Reus into Werner's path but just slightly ahead of him. Another good counter by Germany.
De Roon coughs it up again. Germany counter and Gnabry tries the chip of Cillessen. Not sure what's up with De Roon's boots but he needs to straighten them up.
De Roon with a wayward pass and ruins a good attack from Netherlands. They've been the more dominant side after 25 minutes or so. Germany lead though through that one attack and finish from Gnabry.
Free sent into the box after Depay is pulled back on the ball. Lovely delivery and De Ligt meet it at the top of his jump. He powers the header wide. Warning shot for Germany!
Depay takes a ball down and tries to backheel into the path of an oncoming teammates. Germany survive again but Netherlands are looking good in attack.
Netherland finally get a crack on the ball now. No way through yet. Blind probes and sends it to Promes. He crosses an Germany head away.
Kroos does fancy it. He waves all of his teammates away and stands over it alone. He strikes and sends it over the bar.
Free for Germany outside the box. Kroos will fancy this.
Gnabry's off again. He gets taken down by De Jong, who is down injured now after turning his ankle, it seems. he gets up very, very slowly.
Germany have really settled here. Netherlands stunned and bring more careful now not to concede another.
First attack! GOAL! Gnabry finishes. Netherlands at sixes and sevens as Klostermann races clear and gets the ball. Van Dijk keeps him on. Cillessen saves the original effort and Gnabry follows it up with the finish.
Germany with a misstep and Netherlands break with Babel and Depay to his left. He plays to him as the striker cuts in and forces a really good save from Neuer. Lovely effort. Great counter.

Gnabry with the first venture into Netherlands' half. He gets tripped up and Germany keep it. Kroos strikes and it's well wide. Cillessen never stressed about that one.
Germany try to take the ball down and start an attack but Netherlands having none of that and they win it back before Memphis shoots. Neuer grabs it.
Corner for Netherlands and Germany clear it any old place. Out for a throw as Netherlands continue their bright start.

De Ligt says Netherlands were too scared to attack Germany in their 3-2 loss back in March. Let's see if Koeman heard him and is set to fix that tonight.
Koeman makes just one change from Netherlands' last game as Bergwijn drops out for Promes. They lost 1-0 to Portugal in that game in the Nations League final.
No Sané obviously after his knee injury for Manchester City as Werner gets the start with Reus and Gnabry either side of him. He came off the bench and scored in Germany's 8-0 trouncing of Estonia most recently.

It's not Germany top of the group. It's not Netherlands either. It's Northern Ireland who sit atop Group C with 12 points from a potential 12. Germany have played three and won all three while Netherlands have played two, won one and lost one. They were beaten by the Germans and will want revenge for that to even things up in the group.
