Bayern's hero who left North London through the back door
Arsenal fans were both delighed to see the former Gunner crush their arch rivals and regretful that he left the the club through the back door for the measly sum of £4.5 million in 2016.
Serge Gnabry, 24, returned to London, his home for more than four years, and shined.
The Bayern Munich striker was the stand-out protagonist in the destruction of Tottenham at their new stadium in North London, scoring four of the seven goals that the German club managed to put past Mauricio Pochettino's stunned side.
After the game, it was Arsenal fans who commented about him most on Twitter; who were both delighted by the former Gunner's crushing of their arch rivals and regretful that he left the the Emirates Stadium through the back door for the measly sum of £4.5 million (5 million euros) in 2016, after four years at the club.
"Am I blaming Wenger for not giving Gnabry enough opportunities? 100 percent YES," wrote one fan on Twitter.
"I remember that Arsenal sold Gnabry for 4.5 million pounds. What a player he has become," another Twitter user commented.
"We kept Iwobi and Walcott. Gnabry was sold even though he turned up every time he was given the opportunity," stressed another frustrated Arsenal supporter.
Gnabry left the Prem and returned to Germany
A few years ago Gnabry was on loan from Arsenal at West Brom and his coach Tony Pulis banished him to the bench, saying he "didn't have the quality for a Premier League team." Without opportunities in England, Gnabry decided to return to Germany, with Wenger letting him go for "peanuts" (as another Twitter user pointed out).
During a triumphant year at Werder Bremen in the 2016/2017 season, he caught the attention of Bayern Munich, who signed him for 8 million euros. After closing the deal for the player, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge boasted about the operation of securing one of Germany's greatest talents - a talent that was brought to the stark attention of both factions of North London on Tuesday night.
