Barça: Luis Suárez up to fourth in all-time scorer list at Camp Nou

The Uruguayan's goal against Eibar took him to 184 strikes for the club, level with Josep Samitier and within 10 of Ladislao Kubala's haul.

Luis Suárez’s strike rate for Barcelona has been consistently impressive since his arrival at Camp Nou in 2014 and the Uruguay forward has moved up to joint-fourth on the all-time scorer’s list for the club, level with the legendary Josep Samitier.

Suárez’s strike against Eibar in Ipurua, from a Leo Messi assist, took him to 184 goals in 256 games for the reigning Liga champions, leaving the 32-year-old with just three more prolific Barça players ahead of him.

Samitier, who played for Barça between 1920 and 1931, scored the same number goals for the club, albeit from midfield, and remains fourth with Suárez in the scoring list at Camp Nou behind Ladislao Kubala, César Rodríguez and his current teammate Messi

The Argentinean’s current record of 605 goals for Barcelona is unlikely to ever be beaten, but at Suárez’s current rate of scoring he has the second spot firmly within his sights. After Samitier, Kubala stands on 194 goals for Barcelona and César, whose record of 232 held for 57 years before Messi overtook him in 2012 at the age of 24, is within Suárez’s reach if he sees out his current contract at Camp Nou, which expires in 2021.

Suárez’s goals have been spread out among LaLiga (136), the Champions League (22), the Copa del Rey (19), the Club World Cup (5) and one each in both the European and Spanish Super Cup.

So far this season Suárez is Barça’s top scorer with seven goals, five in LaLiga and two in Europe.
