Santiago Solari has returned to Real Madrid. According to "El Larguero", the Argentine is back at the club nine months after being sacked and will assume the role of club ambassador. Solari will be the club's public representative. The former coach of the first team and Castilla joined Emilio Butragueño, the director of institutional relations at the club, at the opening of the 14th year of the Real Madrid's University in the Spanish capital.

During the opening, they showed a video homage to Solari with footage of his time as a player for Real Madrid. Amongst those moments was a hug with Zidane, his sucessor on the bench at the club last season. Solari deliver a message to the students: "Humility, sacrifice and solidarity are key values in sports. These values are incorporated at Real Madrid."

"They are prepared to compete, never back down, try to do their best and never stop learning. The academic development is fundamental to be more competitive to have more options to work and to be awell-rounded person," was Solari's advice to the students.

The Argentine managed Real Madrid for 32 games in 2018/19 after Julen Lopetegui left the club. He was promoted from Real Madrid Castilla at first on a temporary basis before being hired as the permanent coach. He was sacked in March with Zidane making a shock return. During his time on the bench, he won the Club World Cup, won 22 games with two draws and eight losses.

Solari had been linked with a move to Inter Miami but he returns after nine months without managing another club.
