Matheus Fernandes: Barcelona set to sign Palmeiras midfielder
Barça are preparing to complete a 7m-euro swoop for Brazil Under-20 cap Fernandes, who is then expected to be loaned to Real Valladolid.
Palmeiras midfielder Matheus Fernandes is to become a Barcelona player in the coming hours, with the Brazilian due in Spain on Friday to have a medical and sign a five-year contract with the LaLiga giants.

Fernandes, whose 7m-euro switch had been held up by reported paperwork issues, is expected to be loaned straight out to fellow Primera División club Real Valladolid.
Midfielder says goodbye to Palmeiras ahead of move
The 21-year-old has already taken to social media to bid farewell to Palmeiras, a club he leaves just 12 months after joining from Botafogo, writing: "I've never been good at goodbyes, but sometimes they're necessary if difficult.
"I'd like to thank Palmeiras, a club that placed its faith in my potential and signed me last year. Thanks also to Botafogo for opening the way for me. I feel honoured to have worn shirts with such historical significance in Brazilian football."
An international for Brazil at age-group level
Capped twice by Brazil Under-20s, Fernandes made 12 appearances for Palmeiras, scoring one goal.
