Reinier set to make Real Madrid Castilla debut against Sanse on Sunday
Real Madrid's plan is for Reinier Jesus to make his debut for Castilla against Sanse at the Alfredo di Stéfano on Sunday. He's already training with Raúl's squad.
Less than a week after being officially presented by Real Madrid, Reinier Jesus is set to play his first game for Castilla. The Brazilian, who was unveiled at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday, has started training with Raúl's squad and will make his debut on Sunday.
The plan is for Reinier to be given his first minutes against city rivals San Sebastián de los Reyes in the Week 26 early evening kick-off game at the Alfredo di Stéfano stadium on Sunday (17:00 hours CET). The teenager watched Castilla's last outing, as 2-2 with Rayo Majadahonda, on television. Now he will be playing his first game for the reserves, against the team who are stuck in bottom place in the table on 18 points - Sanse.
Reinier ready for Castilla debut against Sanse
Castilla meanwhile are in eighth on 34 points - just six points off the play-offs places. Reinier said during his presentation that he can't wait to get playing with the team "I'm happy, I've already started training with Castilla, they are all great people, I'd already met Raúl… He's one of my idols. I'm sure that I'll feel even more settled tomorrow and I'll be ready to play in Sunday.
Reinier knows that he will have to wait his turn with the senior side. He watched Zidane's team draw 2-2 with Celta in the VIP lounge at the Bernabéu last Sunday. But it has been agreed that he must make his way up through the ranks gradually. He will eventually be called for the odd training session under Zidane's orders - that might not happen this season - more likely during the pre-season.
