Canelo applauds Chicharito and Pizarro's decision to come to the MLS
Saul Alvarez supports the decision made by Chicharito and Pizarro to join the MLS because he loves seeing his fellow Mexicans succeeding around the world.
Javier Hernandez and Rodolfo Pizarro both decided to continue their respective careers in Major League Soccer this year. Chicharito signed with LA Galaxy and joins up with Jonathan dos Santos while Rodolfo Pizarro joined Inter Miami the new franchise for this season in the MLS.
That decision hasn't been without criticism from former players and media around the world who think it may be a step back for both players in their careers. But boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez thinks differently and defended his compatriots' decision to continue their careers in a competitive league.
“For me these players are just living their dreams and we have to be proud that they will be playing in the MLS. There will always be criticism but at the end of the day they have to choose what's best for their life,” Canelo said.
Saul Alvarez has faced criticicism for much of career and has learned to deal with it. He knows that the best way to silence the critics is work hard, “If they believe it is the right move then they don’t need to listen to what other people say, you can’t make everyone happy.”
Alvarez is preparing for his next fight
Saul Alvarez is currently preparing to return to the ring and his next fight will be the 2 May against a rival yet to be confirmed. His next opponent could be Golovkin, Callum Smith, John Ryder or Billy Joe Sounders. The British boxer is the one that could end up finalizing the deal to fight the Mexican.
