Coronavirus: Callejón and Llorente caught in food queue

The whole of Italy has been hugely impacted by the spread of coronavirus and, it is clear, that this is affecting professional footballers both on and off the pitch.

It was initially the north of the country that was put on alert, then that quickly grew to all parts. Football matches were postponed, then played behind closed doors, all part of wider measures by the Italian government to try to reduce the spread of the virus.

Day-to-day life has had to change, with new restrictions on shopping, and images emerging on Wednesday morning showed that even top players such as Napoli’s Fernando Llorente, José Callejón and Daniel Ospina were having to queue for their requirements. Likely a welcome distraction for the locals who captured a photo while waiting with them to stock up on necessities.

The three players decided to do their big shop at the Carrefour of Corso Europa, which is open 24 hours a day.

In related news, Spanish side Getafe have said they are unwilling to travel to Milan for their Europa League game due to the situation with coronavirus.
