Leon overcome Pumas in the 10th week of the Clausura 2020
Pumas have only won one of their last five games and drop to the fifth place of the table while Leon sit aloft the Liga MX rankings with 21 points after winning on Saturday.
Club Leon has been one of the most consistenmt teams in the past two years in the Liga MX but have failed to win the title despite having made it to the finals in several occasions. After defeating Pumas 3-1 on Saturday, Leon are currently at the top of the table with 21 points.
The game at the Nou Camp was played behind closed doors due to the pandemic of the coronavirus and at the 11th minute the home team scored the first goal of the game thanks to a Fernando Navarro who took advantage of a rebound.
Three minutes later Pumas was able to tie the game thanks to Carlos Gonzalez who fired home from outside the box with Angel Mena putting the home side back in control. Leon dominated proceedings in the second period with Ismael Sosa bagging the the third and last goal of the game to give Leon the victory and the three points.
