Lloris has decided to buy a ‘personal protection dog’ from Elite Protection Dogs, a London-based firm that specialises in raising and training puppies of a “military and police ancestry”, focusing on two breeds of dogs: Belgian and German Shepherds.

The military and police around the world tend to choose these breeds as their first choice, as do we,” the company explains on its website, highlighting their high level of intelligence.

“A personal protection dog is not only a family friendly pet but also a form of protection,” Elite Protection Dogs adds. “They crave a family bond, affection and love and are very child friendly.

"They are dedicated to shield you, by demand, from any possible danger or threat as taught through intense training, mental stability and obedience.”

Prices for these personal protection dogs start at a whopping 15,000 pounds (17,000 euros), Elite Protection Dogs says.

"Our bodyguard"

Earlier this month, Lloris took to social media to show off the new addition to his household, posting a picture of the recently-purchased dog on his Instagram account, with the hashtag ‘our bodyguard’.
