Nicklas Bendtner confesses to blowing 6M euro on Texas Hold'em
The former Arsenal striker confirmed his addiction to playing the poker game when he was a 19-year-old with the North London side.
Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has confirmed that as a 19-year-old he was addicted to poker.
The recent FC Copenhagen player confessed that he spent well over six million euro on games of Texas Hold’Em but admitted that despite this heavy spending, he never developed a gambling problem and that these losses helped him become more prudent as a person later in life.
The Danish striker revealed all in a Danish reality where the player appears with his partner and model Philine Roepstorff. “I lost a lot of money, an unrealistic amount" confessed the journeyman striker.
“It's hard to say how much it was in reality, but I'd estimate that it was almost 50 million Korona (almost seven million euro). It was something that I was always in control of and I simply betted big sums of money. Sometimes in London, things would get out of control on a night and things could really have ended badly" admitted the player.
The Danish striker admitted that he has learned form experience and these days deals in more conservative amounts of money stating: "now I place smaller bets of 100 Korona (approximately 15 euro).
Bendtner is the star of a Danish reality show alongside model girlfriend Philine Roepstorff, with the show titled ‘Bendtner and Philine’ and is currently being aired on the Dplay, Discovery Network.
