The behind-closed-doors nature of the return of LaLiga has already been witnessed in a few games ahead of Mallorca vs Barcelona, all starting with the Seville derby on Thursday which saw a win for Sevilla over their local rivals Betis. Now the league leaders take centre stage, and with a fully fit Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez in their ranks, few see an early return upset on the cards.
But although the home fans will not be present to support their team, the strange surroundings could play its part as somewhat of a leveller. The islanders currently sit 18th and will do all they can in the remaining games to pick up enough points to remain in the Spanish top flight next season.
