How MLS is Back groups stand after the second round
The MLS is Back Tournament has begun smoothly, despite Major League Soccer having to deal with the withdrawal of FC Dallas and Nashville due to Covid-19.
The MLS is Back tournament has successfully concluded the second round of group stage matches with one more round of fixtures left to play. Prior to the beginning of the tournament FC Dallas and Nashville had to opt out due to several positive coronavirus cases, but since then no new cases have been reported inside the ‘bubble’ of the Orlando sports complex.
After two rounds only Portland, Columbus Crew, Orlando City and Philadelphia Union have qualified for the next round after winning their first two games. There are only four spots remaining and Inter Miami, LA Galaxy, Houston Dynamo, NYCFC and Seattle Sounders are going to fight for a place in the next round.
Vancouver and Chicago Fire have one less game because of the modifications the league had to make due to the withdrawal of FC Dallas and Nashville. LAFC are the top scorers so far with nine in two games.
