Leeds captain Liam Cooper urges young people to never give up

To celebrate the work of Generation Amazing, a solidarity development platform for football in Qatar which is associated with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Leeds United’s Scottish captain, Liam Cooper, appeared on Generation Amazing’s Instagram Live event last week.

The Scotsman recounted stories from his football career, spoke of his contributions to community development work to spread the values of football, and also highlighted the recent achievement of Leeds United, one of the strategic partners of the Generation Amazing Program Committee, which won promotion to the Premier League for the upcoming season.

Regarding his role in community development work, the defender said: "I already have a splendid platform, from which I can move forward by giving something back and supporting all the communities that need it."

Speaking about young people seeking to advance their leadership skills, one of the core skills of the Generation Amazing program, achieving success in sports and other areas of life, Cooper said: “As a team leader, I try to help my team mates. We were fortunate, because we already have considerable experience in this field, as well as having young players who strive to learn everything new, which is a basic pillar of our success.”

Cooper concluded by advising young people to “never stop chasing your dream, there will be many challenges, but keep learning and never give up, and one day you will surely achieve all your dreams."

Generation Amazing has reached 500,000 beneficiaries

Meanwhile, Generation Amazing, in cooperation with the Education Above All Foundation, aims to shed light on the attacks on the education process and educational organisations, as well as the harm inflicted on children as a result of this, through the hashtag #UnitetoProtect. Through this collaboration, Generation Amazing seeks to raise awareness on this issue in conjunction with the International Day to Protect Education from Attack on 9 September.

It is worth noting that Generation Amazing, the social responsibility program of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, has so far succeeded in reaching 500,000 beneficiaries in Asia, the Middle East and around the world, and continues its journey to make a positive impact on the lives of 1 million people through the unique methodology of the football program until the start of the 2022 World Cup.
