NBA 2020 Finals get under way tonight, pitting the LA Lakers, the favorites, against the Miami Heat.

After besting the Boston Celtics in the sixth game of the Easten Conference Finals, the Miami Heat will go to their first NBA Finals since 2014.  The Heat will now face the LA Lakers who defeated the Denver Nuggets four games to one to win the Western Conference.  The Lakers will be returning to the Finals for the first time since 2010.  Lebron James will face his former team, who he won two championships with, in an attempt to bring home a fourth.  In addition, James is shooting for the Finals MVP, which would make him the first player in the league's history to do so with three different franchises.

Obviously, you know the star power that they have." Jimmy Butler

The Laker's power duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis is expected to give the Miami Heat defense a work out in the Finals.  During the regular season the pair led the Lakers to victory in their two encounters with the Heat.  In the first game the pair racked up 52 points between them.  In that same regular-season game one the Laker's defense held the Heat to just 80 point scored, their lowest tally of the season.  In the second match-up the Heat almost scraped out a tie but Butler missed a last-minute 3-pointer giving the Lakers the series.  Now it will be seen if Miami can do better in the postseason against the Lakers with Jimmy Butler saying after the 125-113 series-winning game "We're going to have to play damn near perfect because they're such a good team and they do so many things well."

Who will face who?

Along with Miami's robust defense, it will be Bulter's job to keep a spectacular postseason James under control.  James got his 27th triple-double in the Western Conference Final game scoring 38 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists.  Davis will be met by Adebayo, who has upped his game after not performing so well in the regular-season encounters with LA.

Fans will be in for a show when play starts this evening broadcast live on ABC from the Orlando Bubble with tip-off at 9 p.m. ET.
