USMNT possibly scheduling Europe friendlies for November

For several reasons, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the United States men’s national team (USMNT) hasn’t played a game in almost a year. The coach Greg Berhlater has hosted training camps during this time with no friendlies to keep in touch with his players and see their progressions individually, and as a team.

Europe - based friendlies

Since the USMNT didn’t play in the October FIFA International window, the Federation is trying to lock in two friendlies for November. According to the Washington Post the US Soccer Federation will host a training camp with selected players from MLS between the 18-28 October in greater Denver.

That will be the first step; in a controlled environment with regular Covid-19 testing. This will be the first camp to take place since March. The second camp is likely to take place in November, but the US Soccer Federation is yet to confirm that.

The next FIFA International window is in November (12 and 17) and the USMNT is working on playing in Wales and the United Kingdom with rivals to be announced. Fortunately for Greg Berhalter he will be able to call up the Europe-based US players for those games.
