NATIONS LEAGUE | SPAIN 1-0 SWITZERLAND
Luis Enrique cheers Spain win: "There was nothing that I didn't like"
Luis Enrique: "I can only remember one clear chance by them, we could have killed the game off in a number of moves but it's not that simple".
Luis Enrique shared his thoughts after watching his Spain side beat Switzerland 1-0 in their third Nations League outing. Mikel Oyarzabal rifled in the only goal of the game.
Difficult match: “We knew it was going to be complicated. The fact they only have one point doesn't reflect their level. They play a high-line defence, we also pressed them and made it difficult for them to go forward. We didn't kill the game off and for that reason it was a struggle”.
Was there anything you didn't like? “No, nothing. To press a team like Switzerland, playing with three centre-backs and two holding midfielders, is very difficult. I was proud of the way we handled the latter stages of the game, in other games we might have sat back but tonight we did the opposite and continued attacking”.
Pau Torres and Ramos rise to the occasion: “For me, every game is important. We create competition within the squad, so that the players understand that anyone can play, in any position and at any moment”.
Ukraine next: “We'll rotate the team depending on what happens over the next couple of days. Ukraine are in the same situation as us so we'll see”.
