Bob Bradley compares LAFC with Lakers and Dodgers as they make a run for the MLS Cup

Los Angeles FC finished the 2020 MLS regular season in seventh place with 32 points in 22 matches. The ‘Black & Gold’ had the three points in the bag, but Portland Timbers managed to score an equaliser towards the end of the game on Sunday at the Banc of California stadium.

Now LAFC travel to Seattle to face the Sounders in a date to be determined for the first round of the 2020 Major League Soccer play-offs. This was the first time in their first three years in the league that they didn't have the home advantage; in 2018 they finished in third place and 2019 they were the number one seeded team.

LAFC wants to follow the path of Lakers and Dodgers

After the result against Portland Timbers the LAFC coach Bob Bradley said he was very angry with what happened and that they have to improve in important games like this if they want to win the MLS Cup this season.

We have a good team and we have to prove it in the playoffs. When it's all said and done, we saw it with the Lakers and the Dodgers. With everything that has been going on in the U.S. and in the world this year, some teams with leaders at the end have something special, something different. There is determination and I am hoping we can find that. We have the team to win the MLS Cup, but we have to take it a game at the time,” said Bob Bradley.

LAFC could lose four players

The last international break of the year takes place this month and due to the change of schedule because of the coronavirus pandemic, this year it falls when the MLS begins the first round of play-offs. Los Angeles FC have four players who will be with their respective national team - Diego Rossi (Uruguay), Brain Rodríguez (Uruguay), Diego Palacios (Ecuador) and José Cifuentes (Ecuador) could miss the game against Seattle Sounders.
