Messi, De Jong and Pjanic back in training with Barcelona
The trio of Messi, De Jong and Pjanic returned to group training following all three players delivering negative PCR tests.
As Ronald Koeman's side prepare ahead of Saturday's trip to the Wanta Metropolitano where they are set to face unbeaten Atletico Madrid, the Dutch coach welcomed back Leo Messi, Frenkie de Jong and Miralem Pjanic after all three players delivered a negative PCR tests.
All three were absent from Thursday's session with permission from the Dutch coach and all exercised separately as they cannot be in contact with the group until the result of their PCR tests is known after having played with their respective countries. The Argentine forward arrived in Barcelona on Wednesday after a trip of more than fifteen hours, while the other two played with their national teams on Wednesday.
All three players are expected to start at the Wanda Metropolitano against a strong Diego Simeone side. Messi will start and will look to be among the goals with Ansu Fati absent with a long term injury. De Jong and Pjanic too will start with Sergio Busquets also ruled out after his recent injury sustained with the Spanish national side.
