Throughout the CAF Champions League campaign many Al-Ahly's players have played a key role to help their team claim an eagerly-awaited coronation that ended a seven-year drought without winning the club's favourite title.

Ali Ma'loul:

The Tunisian left-back delivered stunning performances throughout the tournament to reach the CL final with the Red Devils. Al-Ahly reached the final of the 2017 and 2018 editions but didn't have the luck on their side to lift the trophy. Ali Ma'loul scored 4 goals and created 3 in 9 matches.

Mohamed Al-Shennawy:

Al-Ahly's goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Shennawy was one of the main reasons why the Red Devils claimed the title this year. The shot-stopper played 12 games achieving a clean sheet in six of them and conceding 6 goals throughout the whole campaign. He also managed to save a crucial penalty against Wydad Casablanca in the first leg of the semi-final.

Hussein Al-Shahat:

Al-Shahat is one of the most prominent players in Ahly's squad. Having played 11 games in the competition, Al-Shahat became the team's highest goalscorer with 6 goals in addition to providing the most assists by creating 7 goals. His most shining moment was his magnificent goal against Wydad Casablanca in the semi-final's return leg.

Amr El Solia:

El Solia who participated in 14 games during this campaign is considered one of the crucial pillars in the team's midfield. He provided three assists and scored one of the most precious goals in the tournament in the final game against historic rival Zamalek to grant his team an early lead.

Mohamed Magdy "Afsha":

With a screamer in the 86th minute against Zamalek, Afsha gifted the African precious title to Al-Ahly fans as he scored one of the most beautiful goals in this year's competition. Afsha played 9 games during this campaign scoring 3 crucial goals and creating 3. He has been chosen as man of the match after the final game in Cairo that sent his team through to the club World Cup in Qatar next year.
