PS5 restock updates on December 8

Follow the latest updates on whether the PS5 is in stock and available to buy from Amazon, GameStop, Walmart and other retailers in the US.

Update:
Where to buy PS5: restock updates at Walmart, Costco, GameStop Kohls, Best Buy, Target, Amazon...

After its 12 November release in the United States, the PlayStation 5 (PS5) didn't take long to sell out due to the number of pre-orders and the expectations generated by the next-gen device. The main gaming retailers from the US such as Walmart, Costco, GameStop, Kohl's, Best Buy, Target and Amazon have been restocking bundles (both online and in physical stores) during the last month on expected dates such as Black Friday 2020 and at unannounced moments.

New PlayStation demand "unprecedented", says Sony

Sony says demand for its new console has been "unprecedented", but has assured customers that it is working to get new stock to retailers.

"We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year - please stay in touch with your local retailers," tweeted the compnay on 25 November.

However as it stands, it seems virtually no retailers have the console in stock, at least on their online stores. Even Amazon has said it has doesn't know "when or if this item will be back in stock". Although you may still have a chance of finding a PS5 at a a physical store.

There are two types of PS5: a $499 model with a disc-reader and a $399 digital-only version. Given its lower price, the digital-only PS5 has, unsurprisingly, been the quicker of the two to go out of stock.

Gamers' attempts to get their hands on the PS5 have also not been helped by opportunistic scalpers buying in bulk and then reselling the console on sites such as eBay for exorbitantly marked-up prices.

If you're after a PS5, check below for the latest information on PS5 stock at Walmart, Costco, GameStop, Kohl's, Best Buy, Target, Amazon and Sony.
