Floyd Mayweather will once again make a return to the ring in February, 2021 for an exhibition bout against YouTube celebrity Logan Paul.

The five-weight division world champion announced the news on his Instagram on Sunday, saying that he will don his gloves for the fight on 20 February, with the location yet to be confirmed.

The bout will be streamed live through the application Fanmio Boxing on a pay-per-view basis. The first million purchases will be $24.99 each, with the price rising after that. Note that while the advertised price is $24.99, you'll also be charged a 'Transmission Charge' of $1.62, making the real price $26.61. No matter the number of buys the price jumps to $69.99 starting 11 February.

Mayweather (43) goes into the fight with an unblemished record of 50-0, while his opponent, Logan Paul, has a professional record of 0-1, following his loss to fellow YouTube personality KSI on 9 November.

Mayweather’s last fight

Inexperienced boxer Paul is set to face a much more formidable opponent in Mayweather, whose most recent fight (if you don’t count an exhibition bout against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in December that lasted one round) was a match in August 2017 against UFC star Conor McGregor, who was making his boxing debut.

The trash talk before that fight was intense, particularly from McGregor, as the mixed martial arts champion looked to get fans pumped for the hotly anticipated bout. But in the end, Mayweather did most of his talking in the ring, winning the bout by TKO in the 10th round to bring his record to 50 wins and zero losses, with 27 knockouts.

Sixteen months later in December 2018, Mayweather took part in the aforementioned exhibition match against Nasukawa, with the former world champion flooring his young opponent three times in the first round before the Japanese fighter’s trainer rushed in to stop the fight.
